European Historian Dr. Karen Offen Ph.D. to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

WOODSIDE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, June 21, 2018 / — In these remarkable times, the news happens so fast you can't even remember a week ago. In truth, history moves very slowly and always has. Historians relish analyzing change – or continuity – over time.

Dr. Karen Offen Ph.D is a historian and independent scholar, affiliated as a Senior Scholar with the Michelle R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University. Dr. Offen publishes on the history of Modern Europe, more specifically France and its global influence on thought and politics with reference to family, gender, and the relative status of women.

“History, especially comparative history, offers us a superb perspective on the human condition,” says Dr. Offen. “The history of people in other countries gives us the perspective we need to help us reflect on ourselves as Americans.”

As a historian of Europe, Dr. Offen is particularly interested in the history of women because it was neglected for so long. Her two most recent books The Woman Question in France, 1400-1870 and Debating the Woman Question in the French Third Republic, 1870-1920 explore the struggle regarding the place of women in France and their relationship to men over 600 years.

“In the wake of the #MeToo movement, it's amazing to me that the French have been talking about such issues for 600 years, and in print!” says Dr. Offen. “It's essentially about how the relationships between women and men should be restructured. It started out with questions about whether women were inferior, questions about the laws concerning marriage, questions about women’s education. Then came the economic questions. Should women even be in the paid labor force? The right-to-work and equal pay for equal work, reproductive freedom, protests again male misuse of their power and privilege: those ideas are all on the table by the later 19th century.”

Dr. Offen says as she’s gone further in her analysis, the issues get more and more complex, or difficult to resolve. A case in point is that of achieving reproductive freedom; another is sexual harassment. She argues that in order to take apart and restructure the existing gender system, you have to understand its construction. That's where history comes in.

“Mutual respect is very important to this whole discussion,” says Dr. Offen. “Masculinity and femininity have been constructed in relation to one another in a particular culture, but each sex has been defined by very different functions and very different privileges. My sense is that every generation has to revisit the resulting problems of how men and women relate to one another in the context of the particular time and place. The “woman question” doesn't seem to go away.”

It was once believed women's history couldn’t exist because (some said) there were no sources. Dr. Offen and her colleagues have certainly proved that argument wrong. Sources abound; one just has to know how and where to look for them.

“When you study long periods of history, as opposed to five or ten years, you necessarily develop a long view,” says Dr. Offen. “And the long view is actually rather comforting. As concerns the woman question, the countries of Europe and North America have actually seen considerable progress toward sexual equity, despite many setbacks and periods of severe backlash. Studying the woman question provides deep insights into how societies actually work at the most fundamental level.

CUTV News Radio will feature Dr. Karen Offen in an interview with Jim Masters on June 25th at 2pm EDT.

Global Parental Control Software Market by Deployment Type (On-Premise, Cloud)

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, June 21, 2018 / — Modern kids have never known a time when they couldn't connect to the entire world via the internet. In fact, they probably spend more time online than anyone else—certainly more than their parents. If you are a parent, this presents a problem, as there are explicit, disturbing, and illegal sites on the web that you don't want your kids to encounter. Furthermore, with the ever-increasing number of devices that kids use to connect, you simply can't supervise every moment they're online on your own. That's where parental control services can help. This software gives you the ability to block unwanted web content, limit screen time, restrict the use of risky applications, and more. Basically, these services are a way to help keep your kids safer on their computers and mobile devices.
That said, parental control software is no substitute for good communication. If you don't want your kids to visit unsafe, unsavory, or inappropriate sites, talk to them about your concerns. We recommend that you also take the time to convince your older kids that you'll respect their privacy while still monitoring their online actions, a promise you should strive to uphold. We prefer software that embraces this kind of collaborative approach, rather than apps that covertly spy on kids. If your kids see you as big brother, it's a safe bet that they'll find ways to outsmart you and evade even the most sophisticated systems.

Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center Now Urges A Medical Doctor to Call Them About Substantial Rewards If They Can Document How a Healthcare Company is Giving Kickbacks Physicians for Referrals

We are positive healthcare companies are paying kickbacks to some physicians in every state and the potential rewards can be significant ”

— Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, June 21, 2018 / — The Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center is now urging Physicians nationwide to call them anytime at 866-714-6466 if they possess proof any imaginable type of healthcare company is paying kickbacks for referrals from medical doctors. Recently the Department of Justice announced a $29.6-million-dollar settlement involving two medical practice groups and a hospital system involved in a referral kickback scheme. The allegations revolved around kickbacks for patient referrals. In this instance the scheme involved a hospital system admitting patients rather than seeing them on an outpatient basis. In this instance the whistleblowers (two medical doctors) will receive $6.2 million dollars for their information. http://Illinois.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

According to the Department of Justice, "On average, Medicare pays at least three times as much for an inpatient admission as it does for outpatient care."

The Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center is inviting a medical doctor or healthcare professional to call them anytime at 866-714-6466 if they possess proof the following type of company is bribing medical doctors for referrals, purchases or admissions:

* A nursing home or skilled nursing facility bribing physicians for admissions

* A hospital bribing medical doctors for patient referrals for radiology or cardiac catheterizations

* A pharmaceutical company bribing physicians to over prescribe medications

* A hospice provider paying referrals to medical doctors-even if the patient is not dying

* A dialysis center bribing-physicians for referring new patients

* An Imaging Center bribing medical doctors for patients who may not need expensive imaging services such as an MRI or CT scan.

* An in-home healthcare provider that is bribing physicians to recommend their services.

* A blood testing company paying off medical doctors to prescribe medically unnecessary-expensive blood tests.

The Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We are positive healthcare companies are paying kickbacks to some physicians in every state and the potential rewards can be significant provided the whistleblower has proof or an eyewitness account of what happened or is happening on an ongoing basis. If you possess this type of proof, please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 for a conversation about the potential value of your information. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might have been worth?" http://Illinois.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a potential whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing. The Illinois Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company/employer or individual to come clean about significant fraud involving paying mandated Davis Bacon wages on federal jobs, Medicare fraud, anti-kickback Stark violations, overbilling the federal government for services never rendered, multi-million-dollar state or federal tax evasion, or an Illinois based company falsely claiming to be a minority owned business to get preferential treatment on federal or state projects. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help you with a focus on you getting rewarded.”

Unlike any group in the US the Corporate Whistleblower Center can assist a potential whistleblower with packaging or building out their information to potentially increase the reward potential. They will also provide the whistleblower with access to some of the most skilled whistleblower attorneys in the nation. For more information a possible whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing in Illinois can contact the Whistleblower Center anytime at 866-714-6466 or contact them via their website at http://Illinois.CorporateWhistleBlower.Com

Investors Bank's Chief Culture Officer Inspires Staten Island Students To Find Their Amazing Skills

Chief Culture Officer Dennis Budinich presented Investors Bank’s financial and life literacy class to high school seniors.

Over 100 high school seniors from Staten Island Tech and New Dorp High School hear about the “pain of discipline” concept.

Graduating seniors were advised that the responsibility for personal education continues well after formal schooling ends.

Investors Bank's Sr. V.P. Dennis Budinich stressed to students that continuously improving their capabilities can help them achieve their potential in life.

Investors Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:ISBC)

The pain of discipline is described in the context of the choices people make about how they use their free time. Young people can nurture personal growth or spending many hours just relaxing.”

— Chief Culture Officer Dennis Budinich

STATEN ISLAND , NEW YORK , UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, June 20, 2018 / — Investors Bank Chief Culture Officer Dennis Budinich recently introduced a financial and life literacy program to students who attend high school on Staten Island. During his presentation, Mr. Budinich encouraged a group of students from Staten Island Tech and New Dorp High School to take responsibility, as young adults, for their personal finances. He also presented concepts for motivated and ambitious people to use in developing and enhancing their capabilities throughout life.

Mr. Budinich heads the culture and development team at Investors Bank, which recently launched a new financial literacy program. The program is aimed primarily at high school students and young professionals. During the presentation he offered three key points:

• Personal education continues well after formal schooling ends
• There is the “pain of regret” and the “pain of discipline”
• Everyone has one or more amazing capabilities.

Mr. Budinich stressed the value of continuous improvement so that an individual can achieve his or her potential in a career, multiple work pursuits, and in life. Over 100 high school juniors and seniors participated in the program, which was a component of the annual Staten Island Economic Development Corporation’s Conference.

In making the point that every person can do something “amazing,” Mr. Budinich showed a video of an artist who handcrafts elaborate sculptures that can balance on the head of a pin. A private collector later paid millions of dollars for the artist’s body of work. Using the artist’s success as an example, Mr. Budinich encouraged the students to find their “amazing” abilities and to cultivate them to create a “personal advantage.”

Mr. Budinich also discussed the concept that he calls the “pain of regret.” He illustrated the “pain of regret” by describing how people feel, later in life, when they realize their lack of adequate retirement savings means they will continue working, usually in low wage jobs, well into their 70s or beyond.

The "Pain of Regret"

Mr. Budinich explained that the “pain of regret” can lead to intense feelings of financial insecurity.
He reviewed the importance of starting early to build a savings nest egg and emphasized the value of saving five-to-ten percent of one’s take-home wages. He encouraged the students to adopt the common practice of spending less than they earn each month. Overspending can leave a person or household with too little savings.

Mr. Budinich described “pain of discipline” in the context of the choices people make about how they use their free time. The “pain of discipline,” he said, comes with the decision to nurture personal growth by reading, rather than spending hours watching television, relaxing with friends, or engaging in social media.

Mr. Budinich advanced the idea that students continue their personal development by spending at least 20 minutes each day reading enriching books. By reading great books, he explained, young adults have a better chance of gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to take charge of their lives.

The presentation concluded with a discussion of the value of being generous by volunteering time to worthy non-for-profit organizations, a practice that will help a person develop leadership skills. Mr. Budinich concluded by stating that “generous hearts prosper,” and rewards often come to those who use their talents to help others.

Andrew Corbman’s 3 Best Estate Planning Tips

Esteemed estate planner reveals the best tips to prepare for delegating assets.

SARASOTA, FL, UNITED STATES, June 20, 2018 / — Deciding the fate of an estate is never easy. Whether the person is making the decision due to unfortunate circumstances, or simple preparation, the process is difficult. It’s emotional and strange, thinking about mortality and realizing that when a person dies, their belongings are simply divvied out. The lifetime the person took to accumulate their estate and the work that they put into the endeavor is dispelled. Often, this process takes less than a day.

However, in addition to the emotions, there are also a lot of decisions to make. What goes to who, and how to plan an estate fairly is often in the forefront of the person’s mind. After all, this will be the last thing that you are ever able to give your loved ones.

Yet, people often wonder where to start. Fortunately, Andrew Corbman, a revered estate planner has put together his three best tips. These tips are to help people understand the process and contemplate the best course of action for them.

1. To Write a Will or a Revocable Living Trust

For most people, creating a will is a perfectly acceptable way to plan an estate. It’s simple, easy, and usually, straightforward. With most people, a will allows them to settle all their affairs in one spot.

Yet, there are some instances where a will might not be the sole or right course of action. If the person has multiple real estate holdings, having a revocable living trust is also a smart idea. This trust can be changed while the person is alive and helps to split real estate in an organized fashion.

2. Decide on the Representation

Reorientation is extremely important. By choosing an executor, the person is entrusting their living friend to carry out their will in their absence. This is a big responsibility, so it shouldn’t be taken lightly.

This is something that should be thought about extensively, logically, and without any kind of dedication or emotional attachment. After all, this isn’t a popularity contest. The executor of the will needs to be trustworthy. That’s it.

3. Plan a Memorial

This could easily be the most difficult part of the estate planning process, but it needs to be addressed. Planning a memorial service that the person would love is a difficult task when left to a grieving family. Fortunately, if the person plans it, along with their estate, it alleviates that stress completely.

Although, Andrew Corbman wants people to know that they don’t have to pay for their memorial. They should only be planning it. This is because, like everything else, the market changes. Plus, if the person needs that money for medical care or self-preservation while their still alive, they should have it. If they spend their money preparing their memorial, they lose that money. Instead, set aside the amount the memorial will cost. The person can always add to the fund, but once that money’s gone, it’s difficult, if not impossible to retrieve.

In summation, Andrew Corbman knows that each of these tips is only scratching the surface of bigger deliberations. Yet, that is exactly the point. There many different aspects of estate planning that need to be decided upon to enable a passing to go smoothly. It’s a difficult time for everyone in the family when someone passes away. ‘Therefore, the best thing a person can do is make the decisions for their family. That way, all they need to think about is laying their loved one to rest.

Citizens Commission on Human Rights Fights Baker Act Abuses in Florida

Florida's Children at Risk

Normal Childhood Behavior is not a Mental Illness

Who Speaks for the Child?

Who Speaks for the Child?

Averaging almost 80 calls a month from people whose friend or loved one has been Baker Acted, CCHR finds all too often the victim did not meet the criteria.

In the 2015/16 annual period, over 194,000 people were Baker Acted, of which over 32,000 were children. These figures have more than doubled since 2001.”

— Diane Stein, President CCHR Florida

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, June 20, 2018 / — “Every day in Florida someone is held for involuntary psychiatric examination (Baker Act) for the scantiest of reasons.” This is according to Stephen A. Talmadge, PhD and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Psychology.

The Baker Act mental health law allows Florida citizens, including children, to be sent against their will for involuntary examination at psychiatric wards known as Baker Act Receiving Facilities and held for up to 72 hours during which time, they may be drugged without their consent if ordered. [1]

In the 2015/16 annual period, over 194,000 people were Baker Acted, of which over 32,000 were children. These figures have more than doubled since 2001.
Furthermore, according to this Act, the Receiving Facility may apply to hold a patient for much longer than 72 hours and bill Medicaid for doing so. [1]

Hospitalizations of children are sometimes used as stop-gaps for school systems or parents unable to care for difficult children. [2]

In 2017 the Florida chapter of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) helped secure the safe release of nearly 300 people being unjustly held for involuntary psychiatric examination.

CCHR is a non-profit mental health watchdog organization established in 1969 jointly by the Church of Scientology and noted psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz to expose and eliminate human rights abuses in the field of mental health.

CCHR maintains a hotline for Baker Act abuses and has helped large numbers of people secure release when unjustly restrained under the Act. An article on Baker Act violations has prompted a stream of intermittent responses over a 5-year period. One such entry stated“I’m covered in bruises, was given multiple injections without my consent, and all of this to be told that ”actually, you don’t fit the criteria to be Baker Acted; we’re releasing you”. [3]

“Our Psychiatric Abuse Hotline averages almost 80 calls a month from people calling about a friend or loved one who has been Baker Acted and unfortunately all too often the victim did not meet the criteria under the law and should not have been taken into custody and sent to a psychiatric facility,” said Diane Stein, President of CCHR Florida.

CCHR Florida Hotline help is available at (727) 442-8820.

About CCHR: CCHR’s mission is to eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health and enact patient and consumer protections. It was L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, who brought the terror of psychiatric imprisonment to the notice of the world. In March 1969, he said, “Thousands and thousands are seized without process of law, every week, over the ‘free world’ tortured, castrated, killed. All in the name of ‘mental health.’” For more information visit,

This legislation will provide every K – 12 public school teacher with a $25,000 a year federal income tax credit. Since most teachers are grossly underpaid this tax credit will help retain our current public school teachers as well as attract new ones to this notoriously underpaid profession.

Barry believes the quality of our public education system should be the same regardless of where you live, what school you attend, or what your economic status is. That’s why he supports Common Core a method of standardized instruction currently adopted by 45 states of the 50 states. In addition, Barry has created a plan to forgive student loans which in his eyes is a win for the student and our country.

Barry has never held public office, but is not new to the political arena. He’s run for Congress and has multiple academic degrees. It was during this time, Barry realized it was the parties, not the candidates, who controlled elections. Like many Americans, Barry became fed up with the two party system and has chosen to run as an independent candidate, free from party influence. He is running in a highly contested race against Dean Heller, the Republican incumbent and Jacky Rosen, a virtual unknown Democratic Congresswoman who decided to run for the Senate immediately after being elected to the House.

Barry brings fifty years of business experience, knowledge and a plethora of common sense to a legislative body that traditionally lacks any. Given his life experience, Barry can relate to all constituents whether they’re rich or poor, educated or not.
