Higher Ed Crowdfunding Campaign from KDG and Muhlenberg Breaks Records

higher ed web design

KDG and Muhlenberg College once again partnered on #MULEMENTUM, a record-breaking Day of Giving campaign.

I really feel like we have a great partner in this initiative.”

— Marissa Zondag, Associate Director Of Annual Giving at Muhlenberg College

ALLENTOWN, PA, UNITED STATES, February 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Lehigh Valley web design team at KDG and Muhlenberg College have broken records with #MULEMENTUM, Muhlenberg’s fifth annual higher ed crowdfunding campaign.

Muhlenberg College has been opening doors for students around the globe for over 150 years. On November 16, 2017, the vibrant campus community came together to help open even more. The school had 24 hours and a goal of 2,500 participants. Students, alumni, faculty, and friends could give a gift and help build opportunities for current and future Muhlenberg students.

“#MULEMENTUM is really a day to get people excited about Muhlenberg, get them invested in the College, and really drive up participation,” says Marissa Zondag, Associate Director Of Annual Giving at Muhlenberg College.

KDG’s higher ed web design team designed and developed a custom giving portal. It engaged participants with its gamified approach and simplified the giving process with its easy forms. Over 2,600 participants answered the call and donated using the custom crowdfunding site.

KDG helped turn giving into a game. Images of Muhlenberg’s many iconic red doors were shown to participants, who had to guess which campus buildings the doors belonged to. Participants with correct answers were awarded digital keys and every time a goal was a met an exclusive Muhlenberg video was unlocked.

“In every giving campaign, it is so important that the campus community come together,” says Kalyn Kates, UI/UX designer at KDG. “With Muhlenberg, this was simple to do. The faculty, staff, students, and alumni are all so close and supportive that they want to get involved and help.”

A mini donor competition between the different groups on campus, like alumni, students, and even parents, created a fun rivalry throughout the day. Alumni ultimately came out on top, leading in donations and referrals.

Plenty of on-campus events hosted by Muhlenberg’s advancement office also got people engaged. The school’s cheerleaders and mascot made appearances, #MULEMENTUM cupcakes were served in the dining hall, and students who donated on campus could spin a prize wheel for some Muhlenberg swag.

“KDG has been awesome through this whole process,” Zondag says of the higher ed web design team at KDG. “I really feel like we have a great partner in this initiative.”

Unless otherwise stated by the donor, the money raised during the campaign went toward The Muhlenberg Fund, which primarily assists students with financial aid and touches every aspect of the campus. Thanks to the Muhlenberg College community and the web design team at KDG, #MULEMENTUM helped open more doors for students around the world.

Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center Urges a Physician in Nevada to Call Them About What Might Be Substantial Rewards If They Have Proof a Healthcare Company is Bribing Medical Doctors for Referrals

Healthcare companies paying kickbacks to physicians happen in Nevada and in every other state and the potential rewards can be significant provided the whistleblower has proof”

— Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center

WASHINGTON, DC , USA, February 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center is urging a medical doctor in Nevada with proof any type of healthcare company is bribing physicians for referrals to call them anytime at 866-714-6466 for a conversation about the federal whistleblower reward program. Recently the Department of Justice announced a $29.6-million-dollar settlement involving two medical practice groups and a hospital system involved in a referral kickback scheme. The allegations revolved around kickbacks for patient referrals. In this instance the scheme involved a hospital system admitting patients rather than seeing them on an outpatient basis. In this instance the whistleblowers (two medical doctors) will receive $6.2 million dollars for their information. http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

According to the Department of Justice, "On average, Medicare pays at least three times as much for an inpatient admission as it does for outpatient care."

The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center is inviting a medical doctor or healthcare professional to call them anytime at 866-714-6466 if they possess proof the following type of company is bribing physicians for referrals, purchases or admissions:

* A hospital or hospital company

* A nursing home or skilled nursing facility

* A pharmaceutical company

* A hospice provider

* A medical device manufacturer

* A dialysis Center

* An Imaging Center

* An in-home healthcare provider

* A blood testing company

The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "We are 100% certain healthcare companies paying kickbacks to physicians happen in Nevada and in every other state and the potential rewards can be significant provided the whistleblower has proof or an eyewitness account of what happened or is happening on an ongoing basis. If you possess this type of proof, please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 for a conversation about the potential value of your information. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it might have been worth?" http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a potential whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing. The Nevada Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company/employer or individual to come clean about significant Medicare fraud, overbilling the federal government for services never rendered, multimillion dollar state or federal tax evasion, or a Nevada based company falsely claiming to be a minority owned business to get preferential treatment on federal or state projects. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help you with a focus on you getting rewarded.” http://CorporateWhistleblower.Com

Unlike any group in the US the Corporate Whistleblower Center can assist a potential whistleblower with packaging or building out their information to potentially increase the reward potential. They will also provide the whistleblower with access to some of the most skilled whistleblower attorneys in the nation. For more information a possible whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing in Nevada can contact the Whistleblower Center at 866-714-6466 or contact them via their website at http://Nevada.CorporateWhistleblower.Com

TeleScope Application on NoviFlow NoviSwitches Uses AI to Enable Real-Time Visibility into Video Flows in Live Networks

Machine Learning and AI can be used for Tier 1 carriers, network infrastructure providers and enterprises to manage video and VR traffic without massive cybersecurity and network management upgrades.”

— Dominique Jodoin, NoviFlow President and CEO

BARCELONA, SPAIN, February 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — University of New South Wales' Machine Learning-Based Application Combined with NoviSwitches Offers Carriers, ISPs, and Enterprises Unprecedented Price/Performance for Real-Time Video Classification in an Operational Network

NoviFlow Inc., a leading vendor of high-performance OpenFlow-based switching and routing solutions, and UNSW, a world top-100 university with deep expertise in SDN applications that leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence technology, today announced that their joint TeleScope solution is in live trials with network operators.

NoviFlow issued the news from Mobile World Congress #MWC18 Booth 7M11, where the company is demonstrating its solutions.

Carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) worldwide are facing a formidable challenge in coping with the volume of video traffic in their network. Streaming video already accounts for more than half of Internet traffic in most countries. These video flows needlessly drive up the costs of network security appliances by consuming deep-packet inspection and intrusion detection resources even though they are not themselves a direct vector for the propagation of malware and viruses. This situation is only slated to worsen with the growing use of 4K video and Virtual and Augmented Reality applications that will generate yet more video.

The TeleScope application:

— Combines the separation of control and data planes of Software Defined Networks (SDN) with the analytical capabilities of Machine Learning to identify video flows and treat them differently from other large data transfers – such as file transfers – that do need to be examined for malware and other cyber threats.

— Provides carriers and ISPs with the ability to bypass video traffic around expensive network security and packet inspection servers, slashing service delivery costs by up to 60%, reducing management complexity and the impact of new video products and services on existing infrastructure.

— TeleScope leverages NoviFlow's NoviWare NOS, which uses the advanced packet handling capabilities of programmable forwarding planes to significantly boost throughput, offer enhanced filtering options at line rates of 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, 25 Gbps, 40 Gbps, and 100 Gbps, and support up to 6 million simultaneous flows and up to 6.5 Tbps of packet forwarding capacity on Barefoot Networks' industry leading Tofino chip.

— The NoviWare/Telescope solution was specifically designed to simultaneously support in a single device multiple network services such as switching, routing, service chaining, firewalling, load balancing, etc.

Dominique Jodoin, President and CEO of NoviFlow, said, "The onslaught of video and VR traffic in networks has become a major issue in most large-scale networks. These trials demonstrate how Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence can be used to enable Tier 1 carriers, network infrastructure providers, and enterprises to face the onslaught without requiring massive upgrades of their cybersecurity and network management resources. We are honored to collaborate with such a distinguished partner as UNSW to offer game-changing Carrier and ISP Services that drive down the costs of running large-scale networks."

Vijay Sivaraman, Professor at UNSW, explained, "Neither hardware-only (middle-boxes) nor software-only (VNF) solutions can perform network functions in a scalable and cost-effective manner to match the growth of traffic in carrier and enterprise networks. SDN enables us to marry the benefits of the two by decoupling forwarding of long-flow packets in hardware from analysis and inference of flow behavior in software. We are very excited to be working with the proven SDN technology and team from NoviFlow to develop and deploy new applications that use AI to enable unprecedented visibility into individual video streams for network operators and scale the solution cost-effectively to high data rates."

“A certification program can lift the performance of individuals in the product safety field and encourage all of us to reach a higher level of effectiveness as professionals,” according to Larry Bell, Product Safety Director, North America for BSH Home Appliances, and Board member of SPSP.

“When we hire or promote product safety personnel at our company, we want to have as much assurance as possible that they can be a strong contributor to the success of our product safety system. A certification program for product safety professionals provides greater confidence in the selection of candidates to fill various positions,” says Laurel Roney, Director of Product Integrity for Swimways Corporation.

The certification program, which will start on January 16, 2019, has been designed by the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, working in cooperation with Consumer Product Safety Certification Services (CPSCS), an independent standards organization affiliated with SPSP.

The program will focus on five areas of knowledge: 1. a proactive culture of product safety in a company, 2. risk assessment and human factors, 3. regulatory compliance and standards, with a focus on the U.S. marketplace, 4. Incident management and investigations, and 5. product recalls and market withdrawal.

“Through workshops and a series of webinars, we’ll help professionals focus on increasing and implementing their knowledge as product safety professionals,” according to Beth-Anne Yakubu, Executive Director of the Emerson Leadership Institute at the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business which will administer the course in cooperation with ADK Information Services, LLC. “Passing an examination and creating a case study for presentation to a panel of academic and industry experts are requirements of the course. Candidates will show their competence by meeting these requirements.”

The program will accept registrations from August 1 – October 31, 2018.
To be eligible for the program and examination, individuals should have at least 10 years relevant product safety work experience, or 7 years or more of product safety work experience coupled with a university bachelor degree in a related field, or such other criteria as might be deemed adequate by CPSCS, which set the standards to be met for earning the designation of “Certified Consumer Product Safety Professional”

The Society of Product Safety Professionals (SPSP), a membership organization that promotes professional development for product safety personnel, helped develop the framework for the program and will provide the designation of “Certified Consumer Product Safety Professional” to those completing the university program requirements.

More information on the program is available at the Emerson Leadership Institute, 314-977-3836, email: eli@slu.edu,

The announcement of the program was made February 20 at the 25th annual symposium held by the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.
