With the drone market continuing to grow at a staggering rate, drones are a subject around which many people are keen to gain a better understanding.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, March 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — With the US government investing billions of dollars each year into ever advancing drone technology, drones have also infiltrated a number of huge, mainstream industries, such as utilities and construction.

"The photography industry still utilizes drones more than any other," points out technology enthusiast Chaitanya Cherukuri.

Based in San Marcos, Texas, Cherukuri has watched advances in drone technology, particularly at a consumer level, closely over the last decade. The consumer drone market has exploded in this period, with notable, market leading manufacturers such as Parrot and DJI all having entered the sector within just the last seven or eight years.

As Cherukuri highlights, it's estimated that around 40% of current drone usage is attributed to the photography industry, with real estate, utilities, construction and agriculture representing a further 10-20% each.

"Other industries, as well as the government, only account for less than 2% each currently," Chaitanya Cherukuri notes, even despite massive government spending.

These industries include education, conservation, insurance, manufacturing and various forms of scientific and non-scientific research.

"These other areas are definitely growing, however," adds Cherukuri.

Indeed, drones are becoming more widely utilized in a number of fields. From weather reporting to border control surveillance, and from building inspection to crop monitoring, drones lend themselves to a great number of applications.

"Using drones generally represents a massive cost saving," remarks Cherukuri, pointing out that launching drones costs considerably less than relying on manned aircraft, such as helicopters.

"Surveying and reporting on disaster areas, or mapping inaccessible locations, has always relied on helicopters or other aircraft," Cherukuri explains. "This can now be done using drones at a fraction of the cost."

With these cost savings in mind, what's in store for the immediate future of drone technology and utilization?

"Shipping," suggests Cherukuri. "Once drones are more widely utilized for express shipping and delivery, it'll turn those industries on their heads. Take a look at Amazon, for example, who have invested incredibly heavily in their proposed 'Prime Air' drone delivery service."

"That would be my prediction," Cherukuri concludes.

Kim Habibi Discusses Why Understanding Accounting Is So Important

Knowing basic accounting skills can help any business or personal finances.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, March 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The critical part of any financial well-being has become certain knowing principles of accounting. Kim Habibi wants people to see the importance of understanding basic accounting skills for their everyday life.

When a person hears the word 'accounting,' they think of a team of people crunching numbers. Also, they feel like the job is too much for a person to handle. But Habibi wants people to know that accounting can be easy to understand and incorporate into their daily lives.

The same can become said for business owners. Hiring an accounting firm to handle business financials have become costly. But if a business owner can understand basic accounting principles, they can save time and money. Every company needs people to make sure the financials are in good order, but not many owners understand they can do it themselves.

"For people who don't own a business, knowing accounting can go a long way in saving money," says Habibi. "From buying a car to keeping track of money for a vacation, basic accounting skills should become a regular subject for all to know."

Many people become intimidated with finances and keeping track of numbers. It might seem impossible for someone who doesn't understand accounting to set aside money for savings each month. With some understanding of accounting, people can gain a much deeper understanding of what goes on with their own money.

These same people use the excuse that they are "not good at math" to explain their reluctance to understand accounting. But simple match only is needed to comprehend the basics. If they can add, subtract, multiply, and divide, then they are all set. With a simple understanding, one can save money for a trip or even future purchases.

For a business, cutting down costs can help a company grow and succeed longer. Sometimes the fees for an accountant can put a company out of business. An educated owner who knows the basics of accounting can keep them on top of business decisions and save money.

"Today, many business owners are taking the steps to learning the basics of accounting for their business," Kim Habibi says. "Because of this, they save money by not hiring an expensive accountant."

This reasoning is especially valid for a small business. These type of companies cannot hire an outside pair of eyes to keep track of the finances. Also, learning just a few basics of business accounting can go a long way.

Not only will the company save money, they know the company's health at all times. Also, they can learn to read a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Keeping track of these documents on their own will let them be able to know the company's health.

Does a company have too much business debt? Are they paying too much interest? Which clients owe money? All of these subjects can be answered right away if an owner is keeping track of the accounting.

If a business hires an accountant, they are one of many clients. It could take some time for an accountant to get back to a client about the health of the finances. Also, if an owner is keeping track, they know exactly what is going on and how to fix it.

"Making smart business decisions starts with understanding accounting," says Habibi. "Instead of waiting for an accountant to crunch the numbers, they can have real-time figures for business decisions."

Also, there is no freedom for a business owner than being able to know the finances of their company. They can answer any question at any time about their business.

"I hope more people take the time and effort to learn basic accounting," says Habibi. "It changed my life personally, and it can change yours too."

Anthony Barraco Lists Reasons Why Everyone Should Donate To The ALS Association

Sometimes people don't realize the severity of disease until a family member or close friend has the illness.

BRADENTON, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, March 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Anthony Barraco went through a terrible ordeal when his father had ALS. The experience opened his eyes to the importance of finding a cure for this disease.

Anthony Barraco wanted to make a difference right away. That's why he donated $50,000 to The ALS Association. He made the gesture back in December.

Watching his father suffer from the illness had Barraco realize so much more can be done to help those affected. Not just through donations, but through awareness around the world.

"Donations pour into The ALS Association every year, but more has to become done so those affected can live out their lives comfortably," says Barraco. "My father had the support and care he needed from the group. I couldn't be more appreciative of their caring ways."
Barraco's father passed away last year.

ALS, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, caused pain and suffering to Barraco's family. But the ALS Association did as much as they could to make sure Barraco's father lived out his last days in the best condition possible.

As of today, there is no cure for the disease. The statistics concerning the illness are striking. Over 6,000 citizens in the United States become diagnosed with ALS every year. The equals to almost 15 new patients of the disease each day. Also, studies have shown that over 200,000 Americans have ALS at any given time.

With no cure, these patients have a small chance of suffering for many years after diagnosis. Most people who get ALS are between the ages of 40 and 70. The average age of a person living with ALS is 55 years old.

"Not only do I plan on donating more to the ALS Association, but I also hope I bring awareness to my community," adds Barraco. "There are many reasons why someone should consider donating to the organization."
Breakthroughs In Medicine.

In recent years, particular medication has shown to slow down the process of ALS. Through funding and research devoted to finding a cure, two types of medicines have become developed.

These type of medicines have been proven to slow the effects of ALS. The disease attacks speech, muscles, walking, and everyday tasks. While there is no cure for ALS, these medicines can slow down the terrible effects.

"Extending the lives of our family members and friends have become extremely important," says Barraco. "And when a cure does become available, those affected can benefit from the medicine.

Providing Care To Those With ALS
Not only does funding go towards medicine and finding a cure, but the money also includes care for those affected.

Facilities all over the country have services specialized for those with ALS and making sure they are as comfortable as possible. These centers benefit from numerous donations and assist in overall living for patients dealing with ALS.

"My father and our family know the importance of having a facility available to help and answer any questions about the disease," says Barraco. "As important as it is to have a cure until then, we need to devote funds to these care centers."

The ALS Association became established in 1985 and currently is the only non-profit in the country fighting ALS on every level. The ALS Association has a say in global research, organizing care through certified care centers, and providing home assistance.

Over the span of the last 33 years, the group has invested over $70 million for research alone. Even more, money has gone into providing adequate care for those suffering from the illness.
"It's become essential for those who have the illness to have the attention and care of professionals at all times," says Barraco.

SHEMA KOLAINU, LEADER IN THE FIELD OF SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION, PRESENTS SUCCESSFUL AUTISM WORKSHOP

Speech Therapist Sara Goldstein, M.S.Ed, CCC-SLP, TSSLD

AAC Workshop Attendees

Topics on AAC: Augmentative and Alternative Communication

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, March 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — NEW YORK, NY, March 28, 2018 — Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices conducted another successful Autism workshop at Touro College in Manhattan. Speech Therapist Sara Goldstein, M.S.Ed, CCC-SLP, TSSLD hosted a discussion on a therapy method called Augmentative and Alternative Communication, also known as AAC. The event was well attended by parents of children who have ASD, speech language pathologists, therapists, teachers, students, and caregivers. Ms. Goldstein is a professional in-house therapist at Shema Kolainu and works with verbally challenged students on an everyday basis. Her presentation focused on unique communication strategies for assisting children when verbal speech is not possible.

Ms. Goldstein outlined evidence-based sources to support the use of AAC and detailed which individuals may benefit from this type of therapy. She also described how to program and use AAC tablet devices, such as iPads. These devices have special programs that allow information to be exchanged between nonverbal children and their caregiver. There are specific functions and visual graphic buttons a child may use to communicate their needs and wants using these devices which are extremely helpful. Think: using an emoji that easily and precisely expresses what you’d like to say without using text.

But for certain individuals, it may be more beneficial to not use technology at all. Dr. Albert Mehrabian, best known for his publications on the relative importance of verbal and nonverbal messages, wrote in his book “Silent Messages” that only 7% of our messages are conveyed through actual words. In a technology obsessed culture, we compulsively check our smartphones and lose touch with the importance of social cues and physical communication. During the presentation, the importance of these nonverbal methods was emphasized as the most essential way to exchange information which includes pointing, body language, or using facial gestures.

Ms. Goldstein was able to provide many personal examples of her experiences working with children on the spectrum which clearly illustrated the range of need for AAC. As the workshop concluded she conducted a group activity using communication boards. By guiding this hands-on experience, the group practiced an important technique used when a child may only be able to say a few words. Participants provided individual feedback on how this experience changed their perspective of restricted communication.

Shema Kolainu- Hear Our Voices, hosts the Free Autism Workshop Series throughout the year. They are a great opportunity to gain knowledge from some of the best resources in the field of Autism. The NYC Council Autism Initiative Funding make these events possible and free of charge to the public. The next workshop will be held on April 24th, featuring “Yoga and Physical Activity Strategies for Children with Autism and Developmental Delays” by Dr. Gruber, MEd, PhD, BCBA-D, Lic. BA.
