CLEARWATER, FL, US, January 24, 2019 / — On the 23rd of January, representatives from nearly fifty non-profit organizations gathered to network, learn the basics of marketing and see how a local non-profit is helping build youth leadership through scuba diving at the bi-monthly Charity Coalition Luncheon. The event, which is sponsored by the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization, was held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater.

Charities represented included the Children’s Home Network of Tampa Bay, Community Service Foundation, NAACP Clearwater, Global Community Tennis, Children with a Vision and Pinellas County Foster and Adoptive Parents Association.

The Charity Coalition program features a ‘spotlight charity’ as well as an educational segment to provide non-profits with tools with which to build up their organizations.

After networking and a buffet lunch, attendees heard from Sam Phillips, the Executive Director of SCUBAnauts International. SCUBAnauts is a marine science education program which was founded in 2001 in an effort to introduce young men and women, ages 12-18, to informal science education through marine exploration and preservation. Two youth participants also spoke about their experiences with the SCUBAnauts and how this has created in them a passion to preserve our oceans. (For more information about the SCUBAnauts, please go to

January’s educational component focused on the most fundamental rules in marketing – finding out what your target audience needs and wants so that this can be delivered. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Barry Coziahr, founder of Stampede Branding.

“I am always glad to come to the Charity Luncheon but really this one was even better,” said one attendee, the founder of a non-profit that helps at-risk youth. “I was taking notes of the speech of the marketing person. He broke down his subject really simply and made it easy to grasp. I liked to hear from the Scubanauts. We have so many good programs for our youths but this one topped it all.”

“The goal of the Charity Coalition is best summed up in a quote from Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard. He wrote ‘A community that pulls together can make a better society for all,’” said Dylan Pires, the Community Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology. “Each group has its specialty of how they are helping the community, and if they all win, then our community will also win.

The next Charity Coalition Luncheon is scheduled for March 20th. If you are interested in more information about the Charity Coalition, please contact Dylan Pires at (727) 467-6860.

— Michael Soltero, CCV Center Manager

CLEARWATER, FL, US, January 24, 2019 / — On 19 January, 81 members of Cub Scouts Pack 43 gathered at the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) Center for their annual Pinewood Derby, which teaches the young Scouts basic physics and woodworking skills. The Scouts learned these skills by creating the fastest, and most imaginative, cars from a simple block of pine wood alongside their parents before competing in more than 108 combined races for the grand championship.

Before the race began, the Scouts recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Scout Law, and Scout Oath before sitting around the racetrack. The derby was done in several stages where the winners of each went on to compete against each other in later stages. The final place winners were awarded trophies and medals.

A larger trophy was bestowed on the grand champion before certificates were given to Scouts whose cars won in categories like most creative, best in show, or Scouts’ choice to recognize them for using their skills in craftsmanship.

One Scout mother said, “I want to thank the CCV Center staff so much for all of your help. We were looking for a facility that would let us use the space without charging us. The kids would not have gotten to race in the derby if you had not given us the facility.”

Pack 43 has been organizing the derby for 63 years, since it’s founding in 1953. The Pack has used the same racetrack every year, helping generations of Scouts learn basic skills.

“The Cub Scouts program seeks to teach children, from a young age, morals and skills that they will carry with them throughout their life. Humanitarian and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard said, ‘Of all the information which became important to me, such as photography, woodlore, signaling, and many other subjects, the basics of it was laid in Scouting,’ and it was great to see this in action,” said Michael Soltero, CCV Center Manager.

CLEARWATER, FL, US, January 24, 2019 / — The L. The story, written by L. Ron Hubbard, was featured in the October 1938 issue of Western Story Magazine.

“It’s a story about a young city slicker who inherits land following his father’s mysterious death,” said Amber Skjelset, Manager of the Center. “He’s trying to survive in unfamiliar circumstances, while trying to find the culprit behind his father’s demise. It’s a story that spans multiple genres – western, mystery and suspense.”

Guests are invited to pick up a complimentary copy of an L. Ron Hubbard’s pulp fiction story after the show. Photo opportunities are also available with the cast following the performance.

“This is a story which often plays out in life of having to deal with bullies and tough situations. Ron Hubbard tales appeared in the pages of legendary pulp magazines—often as many as three titles an issue and bylined under some fifteen pen names. Bonnie Dysinger of Gentle Touch Healing to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

BENICIA, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, January 23, 2019 / — Turning to medications and pills to alleviate chronic pain and illness has known risks and side effects that can have devastating consequences. Since everything in existence is made up of energy it’s no wonder natural healing is so effective helping millions of people find relief. One exceptional woman is helping facilitate the balance needed to return people to a healthy state physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually through her dedicated, remarkable work.

Bonnie Dysinger is an exceptional healing facilitator specializing in Esoteric Healing and founder of Gentle Touch Healing.

“In my practice I help my clients acquire their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual restorative health and healing according to the will of the client’s soul,” says Bonnie. “Through my study and practice of Esoteric Healing I learned about our chakras and energy bodies and their purpose. Esoteric Healing is a science and it’s reproducible; so, I teach people the philosophy and practical application of Esoteric Healing, and they too can balance the energy body. In healing ourselves we heal everyone around us.”

It was through Bonnie’s own personal struggles that she discovered the wonder of Esoteric Healing. When she began soul searching it led her to dabble in various natural healing modalities. She became a Reiki Master and a hypnotherapist. But it was Esoteric Healing that resonated with Bonnie most and where she learned about herself and how if our energy bodies are not balanced and flowing it affects our emotions, thoughts, physical body, and our known or unknown spiritual aspirations.

“I started understanding how our soul brings us tribulations,” says Bonnie. “But once we commit to move through these obstacles then we are supported by our angels, spiritual guides and masters, and our own soul.”

According to Bonnie everything around us is conveyed through our energy body. This affects how we react with our emotions, relate to others, and our thought patterns. When we are stuck in fear or unable to move forward in life, we are lacking a flow of energy somewhere in our energy body.

“Life is a series of lessons we are supposed to learn from while we live on this earth,” says Bonnie. “When we experience challenge after challenge, our soul is actually working hard to help us progress spiritually. And if we’re not learning from the lesson, then we get to repeat it.”

To live in a more peaceful state, change your perception of what goes on around you. Send light and love and prayers to those situations and know you are helping to raise the vibration of the whole world.

“Change starts within ourselves and balancing our energy allows us to let go of negativity that is stuck in our energy body,” says Bonnie. “We can absolutely move forward when we balance our energy. When your soul light permeates your energy unobstructed, you start growing into who it is you are supposed to be, and that is this being of love and light.”

CUTV News Radio will feature Bonnie Dysinger in an interview with Jim Masters on Friday January 25th at 1 p.m. EST.

Vaccinations keep children safe from potentially deadly diseases. But when in doubt, check with the pediatrician based on the medical history.

Healthcare Analytics, LLC (N/A:N/A)

It’s important to get children vaccinated to keep them safe from potentially deadly diseases. But as always, when in doubt, review the issues with the pediatrician based on the medical history.”

— Dr. William Matzner, California (Healthcare Analytics, LLC)

SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, January 23, 2019 / — Presumably all parents want to keep their children safe. That includes the necessary medical care and vaccinations. However, there are controversial and contradictory opinions and information about vaccinations for children. Dr. William Matzner, MD, based in Simi Valley, California, provides his thoughts on this issue. The complete article is available on the Blog of Dr. Matzner at

Let us start with the basics: What Is a Vaccine?

By now, you probably understand why people are vaccinated. Let’s talk about vaccines in layman terms. A vaccine is a product that is given to children, as well as adults, to protect them from infectious diseases. There are various types of vaccines and every year, developments are made to counteract the effects of new diseases discovered. The chemical components in a vaccine stimulate antibodies production and provide immunity against various disease processes.

Now here’s the truly fascinating part: the vaccine works due to the causative agent present in the disease, which is used as a synthetic substitute. The antigen induces an immune response in the body without injecting the disease.

So here are the Top 5 Reasons to Get Your Child Vaccinated (and remember that when you are unsure, the child’s pediatrician, based on the available medical history, probably knows best):

1.Get Your Child Vaccinated (usually within first 12 Months) to protect against some diseases

The first vaccination is usually given to a child within first 12 months (this may differ depending on the particular case, again consult the pediatrician). The basic MMR vaccine is given first, and it protects infants from rubella, measles, and mumps. Another important vaccine that should be given within 2 months is IPC, which protects newborn babies from polio.

There are in total 10 vaccines, with varying doses that should be given to children. They amount to 24 doses and extend from the time of birth to 6 years. You can check out the schedules and recommended doses at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or check with the pediatrician.

2. Vaccines Provide a Shield Against Serious Illnesses

If your child does not get vaccinated at the right time, his or her immune system becomes vulnerable to attacks. When you travel with your children abroad, not only are they at risk but they also put other children at risk.

Some of the vaccine-preventable diseases are:
* Diphtheria
* Hepatitis A
* Haemophilus influenza type b (Caused by bacterial meningitis)
* Hepatitis B
* Influenza
* Human Papillomavirus (Caused by of cervical cancer)
* Measles
* Mumps
* Meningococcal
* Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
* Polio
* Pneumococcal (Causes blood infections and bacterial meningitis)
* Rotavirus
* Tetanus (Lockjaw)
* Rubella (German measles)
* Varicella (Chickenpox)

All of these diseases can lead to serious complications such as amputation of leg or arm, paralysis of limbs, brain damage, convulsions, and even death.

3. Vaccines Protect Your Child’s Future

Children are exposed to germs on a daily basis. Following are some of the places where your child is likely to come into contact with dangerous bacteria:

* Preschool or daycare
* School
* College
* University
* Doctor’s waiting room
* Community center
* Events and concerts
* Summer camp
* An airplane or a bus

These germs spread through crowded places and by the time you notice the symptoms starting to appear, it’s too late.

4. Vaccines Are Generally Safe

Side effects of vaccines are rarely seen. With so many improvements in vaccines over the years, the side effects are now limited to low fever or numbness in leg or arm.

5. Vaccines Save You from Expensive Medical Bills

As mentioned earlier, getting your child vaccinated protects your future and allows you to create savings for their future. From $9 to more than $200, vaccines have been priced according to the spread of diseases. CDC recently updated its vaccine price list at, which you can refer to, to find out how much your insurance will cover. Remember: get your children vaccinated as their future is at stake here.

CNC Machines LLC Manufacturing Scholarship to Cal Poly Pomona Student and Donation to School’s Engineering Department

Manufacturing Skills Gap

CNC Machines Manufacturing Scholarship Recipient

Key Theme in Applicant Essays Centers on Early Education in Solving Industry’s Skills Gap

If more and more companies invest in education, I truly believe that together we can reverse the manufacturing skills gap and instead see a reinvigorated future for the manufacturing industry”

— Curt Doherty

SANFORD, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, January 23, 2019 / — SANFORD, FL – – – CNC machines today announced the winner of its 2019 Manufacturing Scholarship. Pauline Tasci, 22, of Glendale, California is studying Manufacturing Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona in Pomona, California. The company also donated $500 to her school’s engineering department.

Scholarship applicants were required to submit an essay or video detailing three innovative ways the manufacturing industry can effectively increase the number of young professionals seeking careers in the field. (See Pauline’s essay along with those of the two runners-up here ).

Pauline participated in engineering competitions for nine years and was the lead manufacturing student throughout high school. She now serves as a manufacturing and design mentor for high school teams and teaches students about CNC machinery. She also was a manufacturing engineering intern at Applied Medical, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and SpaceX.
“A shortage of skilled labor is probably the manufacturing industry’s greatest challenge. The CNC Machines scholarship and accompanying school donation is our way of encouraging students to enter the industry and supporting the schools educating them,” said Curt Doherty, founder, and CEO, “If we can support impressive students like Pauline in entering the manufacturing field, then the future of manufacturing is bright.”
“We received dozens of applications with amazing and creative ideas yet interestingly, one theme was consistent: early education is key to addressing the manufacturing career gap,” said Doherty. “We believe this is an area that presents manufacturers with a unique opportunity to invest in programs in high schools that give students more exposure to the field.”

According to a study by the U.S. Department of Education on High School Students’ Views on Who Influences Their Thinking about Education and Career, nearly half of the students (49 percent) reported that family members most influenced their thinking on careers while 34 percent said their most influential source was themselves. School staff and non-family members made up a mere five percent of those with the most influence.

“If students and their families are making these decisions then it stands to reason that the manufacturing industry has to step up and provide the resources that allow students to take classes and receive career counseling regarding continuing education opportunities and careers options in manufacturing,” Doherty added.

Industry leaders seem to agree. Of the manufacturing executives interviewed for Deloitte and the Manufacturing Institute’s Skills Gap in Manufacturing Report, 72 percent said involvement with local schools and community colleges is effective in combating the skilled worker shortage threatening the industry.

“If more and more companies invest in manufacturing education, I truly believe that together we can reverse the manufacturing employment and skills gap and instead see a reinvigorated future for the manufacturing industry,” added Doherty. “At, we will continue to support schools and students to reach that goal and encourage our fellow manufacturers to help in their own way

New Film on Censorship and the 60s Counterculture to Premiere at Santa Fe Film Festival: Barney’s Wall

“It is a symphony… an epic novel on a wall”—WALL STREET JOURNAL

“In that wall is Samuel Beckett, Henry Miller, Allen Ginsberg, Octavio Paz, Malcolm X, Jack Kerouac, Marguerite Duras, Hubert Selby, Jr., William S. Burroughs.”—NEW REPUBLIC

Racism. War. Censorship. Rage. Rebellion. The Sixties are back. Rejoin the Underground.

The darkness of the current political and cultural landscape makes our film timely and relevant.”

— Sandy Gotham Meehan, Producer/ Director

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, USA, January 23, 2019 / — A timely new feature documentary, BARNEY'S WALL: Portrait of a Game Changer, premieres at the Santa Fe Film Festival on February 14, 2019, at 6:00pm. The film probes the lasting political and cultural impact of BARNEY ROSSET, radical Grove Press publisher, free-speech warrior and political activist, one of the most influential cultural impresarios of the last half of the 20th century. Rosset’s fierce mid-century battles against literary censorship, government surveillance, racial bigotry and the Vietnam war blasted open America’s conservative culture and birthed the 60s counter-culture rebellion, paving the way to today’s unfettered artistic expression.

In an era that is facing social and political upheavals similar to the 50s and 60s, the film is meant to underline the fragility of our First Amendment rights and civil liberties.

The film makes the case that Rosset’s unflagging battles against inequality and an intolerant culture make him a contemporary model for today’s political and cultural activists who seek to keep the country open and the First Amendment intact. Perhaps the closest equivalent today of Rosset’s feisty, abrasive, principled and visionary politics is Bernie Sanders.

Through vast archival footage and incisive commentary from major cultural figures, the film traces Rosset’s lifetime battle to allow all Americans to read, hear and see what the Constitution demands.

An impetuous and fiercely independent outsider, Rosset’s almost mystical belief in the sacredness of the First Amendment fueled his six years of ferocious court battles against mid-century Congressional ‘obscenity’ laws, now largely forgotten, before winning a landmark Supreme Court decision outlawing government censorship. Freed to publish without restraint, Rosset brought the reading public the ‘outliers’ of the era— previously banned authors including D.H. Lawrence, Henry Miller and William S. Burroughs and the now canonical Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Jean Genet, Jack Kerouac, among myriad others.

Rosset’s commitment to civil rights drove him to publish Malcolm X, Che Guevara, Ho Chi Minh and Frantz Fanon, and to produce the film “Strange Victory”, which equated America’s Jim Crow south with European fascism.

Rosset left behind a wall of his memories, encapsulated in intricate vignettes embedded into a 15’ x 22’ wall of his East Village loft. The film uses the vignettes as portals into the formative influences that drove a rebel, war photographer, filmmaker and publisher to an enduring defense of freedom of expression. The loft and the wall have been destroyed by real estate developers undertaking the gentrification of the Lower East Side of NYC. The film is the only record of both.

The documentary has been privately screened at major cultural venues in New York City, San Francisco and Paris. Two successful Kickstarters helped fund production of the film.

Produced by FoxHog Productions, NYC, an independent media company that produces and invests in films and video about artists and thinkers whose provocative work alters the cultural and intellectual status quo.

Directed by Sandy Gotham Meehan and Williams Cole, cinematography by David Leitner, edited by Kasia Plazinska.
