STEM Publisher Strives to Make Early Science Education Accessible to Young Learners

Exceptionally written, vividly illustrated, and clearly narrated. This book is sure to captivate young minds and inspire them to dream big.”

— Eva Woods Peiró, Ph.D., professor of Women's Studies at Vassar College

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Science Naturally has taken on the mission of making STEM topics entertaining and accessible for young readers with the paperback release of their best-selling book, Women in Biology, in both English and Spanish editions. Women in Biology and Las mujeres en la biología, are the first books in the Science Wide Open series, a collection of scientifically-accurate children's books that present concepts in chemistry, biology, and physics, while introducing elementary school children to female scientists who have made pioneering breakthroughs in these fields.

Through a conversation between a spunky young protagonist, who asks questions about the world around her, and a scientifically-astute narrator, whose answers are crafted to be understandable to young minds, the Science Wide Open series makes learning the basics of science an effortless outcome of enjoying the story. Women in Biology, designed for children ages 7-10, is a perfect place for young scientists to understand the power of curiosity and resilience while discovering the wonders the world of biology holds.

Women in Biology is a fun and easy way to familiarize children with STEM concepts before the pressure of formal schooling sets in. Eva Woods Peiró, Ph.D., professor of Hispanic and Women's Studies at Vassar College, says this title is "exceptionally written, vividly illustrated, and clearly narrated. This book is sure to captivate young minds and inspire them to dream big."

This series was originally published in hardback by Genius Games, LLC in 2016, through a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign. The campaign was fully funded within eight hours of its launch, and in total brought in $136,520 from 3,103 backers. This enthusiasm from parents, teachers, librarians, and scientists demonstrates the high demand for elementary STEM books, especially those celebrating female scientists. One supporter wrote, “now my kids know that yes, there are ‘girl’ heroes!”

Science Naturally is thrilled to have taken on the publication of these beloved titles, with the hope of making early science education accessible to a broader range of readers. Science Naturally works closely with literacy organizations, such as First Book, Kids Read Now, and Reach Out and Read, who serve children in need. These groups purchase the books at a significant discount in order to get them into the hands of underserved children.

Through this latest publication, Science Naturally also hopes to bring early science concepts into the homes of non-native English speakers. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 7.7% of all public K–12 students speak Spanish at home, and in 2015, the U.S. Department of Education found that roughly three-quarters of students with limited English proficiency said they spoke Spanish as their primary language at home. Librarian Amy Koester writes, “When instruction and activities are offered exclusively in oral or written English, non-native speakers are at risk of losing motivation in STEM areas.” Producing inspiring science books for children—like Las mujeres en la biología—is one way Science Naturally contributes to closing the gap in resources.

Author Mary Wissinger spent most of her childhood in Wisconsin singing, reading, and daydreaming. A former teacher, she enjoys writing stories that inspire curiosity about the world and connection with others. Now a St. Louis, MO resident, she is the author of the entire Science Wide Open series: Women in Biology, Women in Chemistry, and Women in Physics. More information about Mary can be found at www.MaryWissinger.com.

Danielle Pioli is an artist and illustrator whose mission is to inspire others to create. The idea of creating a whole universe from her mind to paper is what made her fall in love with art and storytelling. As a child, she was drawn to magic—what she now calls Quantum Physics. She is the illustrator of the entire Science Wide Open series. For more information on Danielle’s work, you can visit her website at DaniellePioli.com.

Canada’s Top Agent becomes Best Seller on Amazon

The Real Deal Book being held by Author and Broker Faisal Susiwala

The Real Deal Book being held by Author and Broker Faisal Susiwala

Faisal Susiwala who was named Canada’s Top Agent, just released his book “The Real Deal – Journey of a Billion Dollar Real Estate Broker”

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO, CANADA, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ —
Faisal Susiwala who was named Canada’s Top Agent for Re/Max in 2019 just released his much anticipated book “The Real Deal – Journey of a Billion Dollar Real Estate Broker” His book immediately topped the Amazon #1 Best Seller list.

More than simply a story of one real estate agent’s rapid rise to the top ranks of his industry, The Real Deal chronicles Faisal Susiwala’s yearning to become a real estate agent. It also chronicles his experience and lessons learned along the way, culminating in reaching the peak of his profession.

Starting humbly, his journey began as a high-schooler, when he got his real estate licence. With a hunger to learn, and only after being turned down by a large real estate firm, he was taken on and mentored by an elderly broker nearing retirement, who taught him about charity, honesty, and so much more.
The lessons he absorbed from those earliest days by “the best mentor in the business,” coupled with the sometimes hard realities, and challenges, of life, gave Faisal a unique vantage point, and a solid foundation, upon which to build one of the most outstanding real estate careers in Canada.

Beginning as an 18-year-old upstart high schooler, he became an agent with no car, but soon learned the ropes and ended his first year in the business by paying off his parent’s mortgage.

Despite his early success and a series of valuable mentors, not everything he touched turned to gold. Even though many consider him a natural, at times he learned the hard way about investing in real estate, and as he struggled to the top, he developed crucial insights and principles about what worked and what didn’t.

Today, after more than 30 years in the business, and as the Number One RE/MAX agent in Canada—fifth in the world—he shares these insights with his colleagues and with everyone who would like to secure their financial future.

It’s not a “get-rich-quick” guidebook, but its lessons are tried and true and over time, will almost guarantee a solid financial footing that will carry the investor comfortably into retirement and ensure their children’s security as well.

It’s not rocket science, but it does take time and discipline. As Faisal Susiwala shows, it’s a system that works. Canada’s top agent—who lives and works in a small southern Ontario market—openly, and humbly shares his simple principles; insights that have taken him decades to discern.

His system took him to the top of his profession and made him the number one agent in Canada in terms of commissions earned and houses sold.
It’s a winning formula based on small-town values of doing a good job, doing the right thing and being ethical.

The Real Deal shows how one young man, against all odds, came to live the life of his dreams and along the way, created the Susiwala System—a how-to guide for real estate agents and everyday investors of all ages who want to secure wealth.

Faisal Susiwala believes being a real estate agent is the greatest job in the world, and this inner conviction has helped drive his success, but he also believes there are greater things than real estate, things like family, children, charity and God. It’s a philosophy that emerges on every page of his book.

Faisal Susiwala’s inspiring story, from selling chocolate bars door-to-door to traveling the world; from being an agent with no car to owning a fleet of elegant sports cars beyond his wildest dreams; from foreclosure in his boyhood to having a real estate portfolio that includes multimillion-dollar homes. He battled back from bankruptcy as a young man, then narrowly escaped being a casualty in the World Trade Center on 9/11. It’s all part of his story, a journey that is inspiring, informative and honest.

If you want success and wealth, and the freedom that goes with it, this book is indispensable. His book is available on Amazon or TheRealDealBook.ca

Murray: Carney’s Continued Record of Bad Decisions – Schools

Allows Childcare But Not Schools

Carney talks a lot about letting the science of COVID – 19 guide his decisions, I would love to meet the scientist that told him, its ok to use schools for childcare but not for school instruction. ”

— Julianne Murray

SEAFORD, DE, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Today, Republican gubernatorial nominee, Julianne Murray condemned Governor John Carney for his latest display of bad decisions for the state of Delaware – allowing childcare to fully operate but not allowing for full-time in-classroom instruction. Carney has even gone so far as to offer childcare providers the use of the very classrooms that he is keeping students from using. This colossal mistake on schools has left parents with no choice nor say on how their students learn this year.

While Carney has allowed childcare providers not only to remain open but, if desired, to operate in public school classrooms, public schools in the Delaware are operating under a hybrid model which has resulted in mostly remote learning.

“How is it the classrooms are safe for childcare but not the purpose they were built for which is teaching our children?” said Julianne Murray. “Again, John Carney is picking winners and losers just like he did in shutting down small businesses. This time the losers of John Carney’s bad decision-making are our students. And why won’t he listen to parents throughout the state who want their children back in the classrooms? This is just the latest of John Carney’s blunders that are destroying Delaware.”

“John Carney talks a lot about letting the science of COVID – 19 guide his decisions,” continued Murray. “I would love to meet the scientist that told him, its ok to use schools for childcare but not for school instruction. Let’s see the data on that. Let’s hear the scientist explain this rationale.”

“We must stop John Carney from using the ‘science of COVID – 19’ as an excuse for his horrendous decisions and begin getting Delaware moving forward.”

A Personal Mission for Educational Improvement

Alex Geordan Superintendent: A Personal Mission for Educational Improvement

CANFIELD, OH, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Alex Geordan Superintendent has traveled a very long road in the education field and has no current interest in quitting anytime soon. Starting his teaching career in 1994, he has evolved from a primary grade school teacher to a top-notch administrator with multiple accolades for his achievement in not just running schools but effectively improving their performance as well.

Getting Started in Education

When he started off as a second-grade teacher at Devon Elementary School in Warren, OH, Alex Geordan Superintendent had completed his bachelor of science in elementary education and achieved his teaching credentials. Here he was, now in front of a classroom of 20-30 young faces and figuring out what his curriculum was going to be for the next nine months. Some short four years later, Alex Geordan had catapulted from an entry-level teaching position to a master’s degree in education administration and then an assistant principal position. By then, Alex Geordan was already a veteran of both grade school and junior high teaching, and well on his way to becoming a seasoned school superintendent as well.

Alex Geordan Superintendent Administrator Tenure

By the early 2000s, Alex Geordan Superintendent was established as a working and experienced principal for Vaughn Elementary School. He spent 4 years approximately as the head administrator of that institution before moving up in grades and taking the principal role at LaBrae Middle School. In 2008, Alex Geordan Superintendent then jumped up further to the superintendent over the Pymatuning Valley Local School District. That tenure only lasted for about three years, but in the short time window, Alex Geordan Superintendent was able to lead a significant performance increase for the District, raising 15 indicators out of 26 in its district report card assessment to a total of 23 scores of 26 passing, an improvement from a prior 61 percent score to over 88%.

Always Working, Even in the Summers

There was never a downtime for Alex Geordan Superintendent either. Even during the off-months when most teachers have a break from teaching and are working on personal development, he was busy teaching still and covering summer classes. And that was in addition to serving on the district committee for language arts as well. Even sports saw Alex Geordan Superintendent’s impact as we performed four different coaching roles at Warren G. Harding High School and LaBrae Middle School for football, basketball, and baseball. The bottom line, Alex Geordan Superintendent hit the local educational system like a freight train and never stopped delivering on commitment and improvement of teaching service.

Currently looking for the next opportunity to make an impact, Alex Geordan Superintendent is not ready to quit education. It’s his personal mission and career, and he’s not done yet giving back to students and schools.

Against the Tide Key Art

Kevin Sorbo and John Lennox Explore Caesarea Philippi

Kevin Sorbo and John Lennox Enter Green Templeton College

Oxford Professor Dr. John Lennox and Veteran Actor Kevin Sorbo Travel the Globe Highlighting How Science and History Support Scripture in "Against the Tide"

This film is a master-class in understanding and combating the atheist manifesto.”

— Kevin Sorbo

FRANKLIN, TN, USA, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — On November 19, the documentary motion picture AGAINST THE TIDE: Finding God in an Age of Science will be showcased in theaters nationwide for a special one-night-only event. Today, as ticketing launches across the country, the team at Pensmore Films is also unveiling a compelling new trailer, which can be viewed here.

AGAINST THE TIDE takes viewers on a journey, following acclaimed University of Oxford mathematician, author, and philosopher Dr. John Lennox and veteran Hollywood actor, director, and producer Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, GOD’s NOT DEAD, Supergirl) as they travel from Oxford to Cambridge to Israel, experiencing firsthand many of the sites and facts that are essential to understanding the complementary relationship between science and faith.

“It was an honor to spend significant quality time with Prof. Lennox while working on AGAINST THE TIDE. That alone was an opportunity that I couldn’t refuse,” shares Sorbo. “This film is a master-class in understanding and combating the atheist manifesto. I know it will be a thought-provoking asset to anyone who seeks to have a deeper understanding of the wonder of Scripture and sees the need for Christians to be confident in defending what they believe."

An internationally renowned speaker and author on the interface of science, philosophy, and religion, Lennox has dedicated his life to standing up against the rising tide of atheism by sharing the rational foundations of his belief.  The film acts as biography and travelogue, sharing what has inspired and fueled this passion to present compelling evidence that science and history not only align with scripture but actively support the biblical narrative.

In AGAINST THE TIDE, Lennox breaks down the arguments and issues most often cited in apologetics debates, reflecting on several very public, sold-out encounters he has had with well-known atheists Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Peter Singer, and Michael Shermer, among others. Sorbo probes Lennox on the issues, and together they discuss, dissect, and discover answers to the most compelling apologetics questions.

Created by Pensmore Films and Kharis Productions, and distributed by Fathom Events, AGAINST THE TIDE is certain to be a legacy resource for homeschool groups, churches, Christian schools, and science and apologetics-loving people of faith for decades to come.

Each of us wants our own family to be happy. Since we pay the costs, socially and economically, of other families’ unhappiness, we need, urgently, to help all families become happier.”

What Is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? Judith Marayelle Explains

Judith Marayelle on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

MINNETONKA, MN, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — “There are many types of therapy,” explains therapist Judith Marayelle. “Most people think of traditional talk therapy when they picture going to a psychologist. Psychoanalysis can be very helpful for some people, but most therapists now practice cognitive behavioral therapy to some degree with their clients.”
According to the therapist of 30 years, Judith Marayelle, cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of psychological treatment that has proven effective in the treatment of problems like anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, eating disorders, and even severe mental illness.
“Many studies have found cognitive behavioral therapy to be just as effective – or even more effective – than other methods of therapy or psychiatric medications alone. I use cognitive behavioral therapy in my own practice because, when used appropriately, it can lead to a significant improvement in the patient’s everyday functioning and quality of life,” says Judith Marayelle.
Advances in cognitive-behavioral therapy have been made based on both clinical practice and extensive research. “This is a scientifically-backed methodology,” says Judith Marayelle. “What sets cognitive behavioral therapy apart from other psychological treatments is that you can prove and quantify the results.”
Judith Marayelle Explains the Core Principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Many psychological disorders like depression and anxiety are caused by – or worsened by – unhelpful behaviors and patterns of thought. “If you can change your habits and your thought patterns, you can change your life for the better,” enthuses Judith Marayelle. “Cognitive-behavioral therapy is essentially meant to help you reroute and rewire your neurological pathways by building healthier habits.”
It’s important to note that cognitive-behavioral therapy isn’t necessarily a cure for issues like depression and anxiety, but it does help you cope with the symptoms and live a happier, healthier life.
What Does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Treatment Look Like? Judith Marayelle Explains
“Typically CBT will involve exercises and tools meant to help you change your thinking patterns and behaviors,” says Judith Marayelle. Strategies may include:
Learning to recognize unhealthy, destructive, or distorted thoughts
Learning how to address unhealthy thoughts by evaluating them objectively and realistically
Using problem-solving skills in difficult situations
Developing confidence and replacing negative self-talk with positive self-talk
Facing your fears instead of avoiding them
Role-playing situations that give you anxiety
Meditation
This is not a comprehensive list of all cognitive behavioral therapy exercises and tools. “There are so many applications for CBT,” explains Judith Marayelle. “And a good therapist will customize those exercises to your individual needs.”

Echos of Hollywood Past Shine Bright Lights on Scotland

Tish Tindall

Tish Tindall & David Gest

Tish Tindall & Robert Burns

Scottish composer guided by Hollywood legends continues a legacy not to be forgotten!

“The development of this show has continued to amaze me for six years. The words and the melodies have evolved with every breath of every performance and every performer".”

— Tish Tindall

SCOTLAND, UNITED KINGDOM, September 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — A touch of old Hollywood charm blended with Scottish history, the exceptionally brilliant Tish Tindall is living and breathing the life of Robert Burns. Over the past six years Tindall has been guided by the essence of legends not to be forgotten as she recreates Robert Burns the Musical from her performing arts academy in Lossiemouth with future Broadway plans.

Tish is continuing on from a chance meeting with the late David Gest who originally created the musical which spawned from an obsession with his childhood friend Michael Jackson. Entitled "Red Red Rose", the original musical, starring John Barrowman, was performed once in Hollywood and once in Holland in 1996. On her captivating journey Tish is continuing David's legacy and making the musical for a new era a reality no matter what it takes.

It was intended for the original stage musical to continue under the direction of Hollywood greats Gene Kelly ('Singin' In The Rain') and co-producer Anthony Perkins ('Psycho') but unfortunately before the project was fully finished, both gentleman died and since meeting Gest in 2015, he has since passed away.

“The development of this show has continued to amaze me for six years. The words and the melodies have evolved with every breath of every performance and every performer. I know in my heart that this story is driven by the creative geniuses of those no longer with us. This has been a gift given to me by some of Hollywood's finest and now it's up to me to get it to the audience it deserves”! Said Tindall

A United States based production company has been following the remarkable journey of Tish and her unique situation in a documentary which is set to be released in 2021.
