Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice are ranked on 2021 list.

These rankings clearly show that the programs at the MGH Institute continue to be acknowledged as being among the best in the country.”

— Dr. Alex Johnson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

BOSTON, MA, 02129, March 19, 2020 / — Five graduate programs at MGH Institute of Health Professions received impressive marks in the 2021 Best Graduate Schools list released March 17 by U.S. News & World Report.

Three of the programs are in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, while two programs are in the School of Nursing. All the programs are integrated into the MGH Institute’s renowned interprofessional education and practice curriculum, known as IMPACT Practice, in which students learn from and with each other so they are prepared to work in health care teams that improve patient outcomes.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy remains the top-ranked program in New England, and is 9th out of 217 ranked programs in the country, placing it in the top 4% of all physical therapy programs.

Also maintaining its top rank in New England is the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, which is ranked 10th in the country out of 260 ranked programs. It is in the top 4% of all speech-language pathology programs.

The Doctor of Occupational Therapy, in its first year of eligibility, is ranked 23rd in the country. The OTD, which was the first entry-level doctoral program developed in New England, is in the top 12% out of 193 ranked programs. “We are especially thrilled that our OTD program is ranked so highly the first time it was eligible,” said Dr. Michael Iwama, dean of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. “This indicates the confidence of our peers in the early success we have demonstrated in occupational therapy.”

The Master of Science in Nursing, which was among the first direct-entry programs developed in the country, placed in the top 30% of nurse practitioner programs in the United States.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice is ranked second in Greater Boston. The post-professional program offers advanced-practice nurses a path to expand their knowledge and leadership skills.

“These rankings clearly show that the programs at the MGH Institute continue to be acknowledged as being among the best in the country,” said Dr. Alex Johnson, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “It is the result of the exceptional talent of our faculty, the excellence of our students, and the accomplishments of our graduates that our programs have been recognized for their quality.”

Denny Waxman Warns Against Panicking During Coronavirus Outbreak

definition of macrobiotics

The coronavirus is creating mass panic. This is problematic as fear and stress makes us acidic and lowers our resistance to illness.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, March 19, 2020 / — When we are acidic we are not able to utilize oxygen properly and immunity and many bodily processes are weakened. So it is even more important to start or keep to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Dietary and lifestyle practices that are naturally alkalizing make abundant nutrients and more oxygen available in our blood. In addition to strengthening our immunity, all bodily processes and thinking ability.

Hopefully, it will turn out that the coronavirus is no worse than the common flu even though it seems to spread more easily. In my experience if a healthy person gets the flu it turns out to be a mild case. Strong health does not mean that we never get sick. If you are tired, over-stressed or rundown you may get a cold, flu or possibly even the coronavirus. Strong health means that we have the ability to recover quickly and efficiently by natural means using daily foods and home remedies. Sickness is always a warning sign that we need to make some changes and take better care.

We all have the natural ability to maintain health. It may be wise to use the coronavirus as an opportunity to strengthen our own health and that of our loved ones. Here are some guidelines to strengthen resistance to all viral and bacterial infections. Of course, good nutrition, keeping your home clean and orderly, getting good sleep by early to bed and early to rise, washing your hands frequently and avoiding contact are the first measures to adopt.

Things to Avoid
The combination of dairy food and fructose weakens our immunity. I have found this combination to be the most harmful for a wide variety of problems. High fructose corn syrup, agave nectar and concentrated fruit sweeteners seem to be the worst.
Illnesses that come in the spring are usually caused by and worsened by animal foods so it is important to avoid all meat, poultry and eggs.
Simple sugars, artificial sweeteners and refined carbohydrates should also be avoided.

Dietary Practices
Eat grains with every meal. Brown rice, barley, farro, millet and buckwheat are especially helpful.
Have at least one vegetable dish with every meal including breakfast.
Include a variety of cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, arugula, kale, daikon, etc.).
Try to keep grains and vegetables relatively equal by volume on your plate.
Have a wide variety of blanched vegetables and steamed greens often or daily.
Try to have miso soup or clear shoyu soup several times a week or daily.
Have a variety of other healthful foods including beans, tofu, tempeh, seeds, nuts and fruits.
Use seaweed in cooking (kombu and wakame) and as side dishes (arame or hiziki).
Use dried shiitake, dried maitake and other mushrooms in soups and other dishes.
Have naturally pickled and fermented foods daily including miso or shoyu soup, sauerkraut or kimchi, umeboshi plums, unyeasted sourdough bread, brown rice or apple cider vinegar or umeboshi vinegar.
Drink bancha twig tea, roasted barley tea, dandelion root tea or filtered water.

Lifestyle Practices to Keep You Alkaline:
Eat slowly and chew your food well until it is liquid.
Try not to overeat.
Walk outside at least 30 minutes a day.
Rub your entire body gently with a hot, damp cloth daily for about 15 minutes to activate your lymph, blood and energy circulation and deeply clean your skin.
Practice breathing, meditation, yoga or chi-kung daily.
Laugh and have good conversations.
Reflect on and marvel at nature, it’s beauty and endless ability to regenerate.

If you should come down with the coronavirus or flu, contact a qualified macrobiotic counselor for guidance, in addition to seeking medical attention.

How Do I Schedule a Macrobiotic Counseling Session with Denny Waxman
– Call 215-271-1858 to schedule an appointment to see Denny Waxman in-person, Zoom or FaceTime. Each session is one hour long.
– Next fill out the health assessment online which will include a health history (birth place and date), present concerns, or any other questions you may have.
– Along with that you will also need to send a recent headshot (This is important for Denny to see your face and get a reading on your health and be able to give his recommendations)
– If meeting through FaceTime or Zoom, setup in a place with good wifi.

Love for Learning and the Mindset of Community Involvement

ACS Athens

ACS Athens President Dr. Peggy Pelonis speaks about innovation, Global goals and the future of the school

ACS Athens challenges all students to realize their unique potential and to thrive as responsible global citizens. ”

— Dr.Peggy Pelonis, President, ACS Athens

HALANDRI, ATHENS, GREECE, March 19, 2020 / — Halandri, March 13, 2020 — Building on the rich legacy as she worked with the late President of ACS Athens, Stefanos Gialamas, new President Dr. Peggy Pelonis expressed her intention to guide the school into further development and her plans to encourage and provide a platform for innovation, by developing new facilities such as an Artificial Intelligence lab and a Research & Development lab, by expanding the Arts program at the school, by extending the “Dogs in Learning” program – using dogs to work with young students and by incorporating the Global Goals into the citizenship model.

During her recent interview on Ideagen TV, Dr. Pelonis explained how ACS Athens is a student-centered international school embracing the American educational philosophy, principles and values: “ACS Athens challenges all students to realize their unique potential and to thrive as responsible global citizens. The school takes pride in its K-12 faculty who are capable of producing new knowledge which can only enhance the dialogue between K-12 and Higher Education institutions.”
“Effective leadership is important in every situation but perhaps is more complex in an international school where one must manage groups of people coming from different countries, backgrounds, and cultures.” Dr. Pelonis stressed the benefits of “instilling in young people a love for learning as well as a mindset of community involvement,” as she believes that “every choice you make can either contribute to a better world or further damage the planet and the relationship among people.” She also emphasized how important it is for young people to be involved in community affairs early in their lives and become problem-solvers rather than contribute to the problem.

According to the President of ACS Athens: “A collaborative mindset is in the core philosophy of ACS Athens. Now, more than ever, it is important to be able to connect, communicate and collaborate across the globe. Global issues are no longer far away; they are affecting us and close to home every day. We must be able to work together to problem-solve and innovate. Collaboration and working together is the key, which is why at ACS Athens we infuse our community with real-life concerns, and opportunities to become creative problem-solvers.”

Young people today are compelled, now more than ever, to find purpose in their lives. Dr. Pelonis emphasized that “facilitating their quest to discover the ‘Why’ or their purpose is very important and I believe this comes primarily through Social Interest.”

Dr. Peggy Pelonis, was live on Linkedin on February 24, 2020, for an exclusive interview with George Sifakis, Ideagen Chairman & CEO, hosted on Ideagen TV. The President of ACS Athens holds a Doctorate degree in Education from the University of Bath, UK, an M.Sc. degree in Counseling and School Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Indianapolis. More on Education and Global Goals from Dr. Pelonis and renowned educators at the annual IDEAGEN Global Goals EU Summit in Athens, Greece, July 22, 2020.

Presented by, a journalism trade website, the award recognizes individuals whose foresight and efforts have transformed the profession.

With an abundance of courage and self-confidence, Henry achieved what most journalists only dream of; that is, building his own, independent, news media company.”

— Dean Rotbart, Editor-in-Chief,

DENVER, COLORADO, UNITED STATES, March 19, 2020 / — Henry Dubroff, founder and editor of the Pacific Coast Business Times, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, has been named a “2020 Business News Visionary,” recognized by his peers for his transformative contributions to the profession.

Dubroff is one of 52 prominent business and financial journalists who will be showcased, one honoree weekly, for the next year. His oral history and profile are now available at Last week’s honoree was Neil Cavuto of FOX News and FOX Business Network.

Dubroff, Cavuto, and other members of the Business News Visionary (BNVA) Class of 2020 will be featured in a commemorative book to be published early next year.

In conferring this special recognition on Dubroff, chair and editor-in-chief, Dean Rotbart, noted, “With an abundance of courage and self-confidence, Henry achieved what most journalists only dream of; that is, building his own, independent, news media company.”

Rotbart, along with a panel of more than two dozen distinguished nominating judges – including top business news editors, reporters, and past award recipients – is responsible for the selection of the 2020 BNVA recipients.

Formally launched on March 17, 2000, the weekly Pacific Coast Business Times (PCBT) serves Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties, located along California’s central coast. PCBT also produces frequent special reports – such as “Dealmakers of the Year,” a “Giving Guide,” and its “Book of Lists.”

Dubroff, a former editor of the Denver Business Journal and business editor of The Denver Post, was also recognized for his service as a past president of SABEW ( Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing). Dubroff currently chairs the organization’s First Amendment Committee, which is dedicated to helping protect press freedoms.

In his oral history, Dubroff says that over the two decades of managing PCBT, the business journal has lived through times both thick and thin. “It’s a lot easier to cash a paycheck than to be the guy whose signature is on the check,” Dubroff acknowledges.

The Business News Visionary Awards are a continuation of The Business News Luminary Awards, which in 2000 honored the 100 top business and financial news journalists of the 20th century.

“The goal of this project extends beyond the celebration of the specific men and women who are profiled,” notes Terri Thompson, who introduces each journalist’s oral history.

“It is also to educate the public about the high standards to which these and so many other dedicated journalists have adhered and to offer a proven playbook for other journalists and journalism students to follow,” she says. Thompson, herself a 2020 BNVA honoree, is the former director of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism at Columbia University.

Rotbart, a Pulitzer Prize-nominated, award-winning financial journalist and former columnist with The Wall Street Journal, was the founder of “TJFR Business News Reporter,” an influential trade news organization that provided a behind-the-scenes look at business and financial journalists and their news organizations.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the 2020 BNVA commemorative book and other sponsorship opportunities will benefit business journalism education and scholarship programs.

The Business News Visionary and News Luminary Awards are made possible, in part, by the generous support of Monday Morning Radio, a weekly podcast produced in cooperation with the nonprofit Wizard Academy and its founders, Roy H. and Pennie Williams, and Robert L.
