CCHR calling upon lawmakers to take action in light of recent reports highlighting a dramatic increase in the number of children on dangerous psychiatric drugs.

Parents are not being told the dangers associated with psychiatric drugs and as a result they may too easily give permission for a prescription and regret it much later.”

— Diane Stein, President CCHR Florida

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, December 11, 2019 / — Today in the United States approximately 7.2 million children between the ages of 0 to 17 are using prescription psychiatric drugs, and almost half of them are on drugs due to being labeled with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This epidemic of drugging children is not just occurring in the U.S. A recent report revealed that there has been a 500% increase in the number of children prescribed psychiatric drugs over the past decade in Ireland. [1]

The psychostimulant, methylphenidate, also known as Ritalin, is one of the drugs prescribed to children who have been labeled as ADHD and comes with such side effects as nervousness, agitation, anxiety as well as psychosis. [2] Methylphenidate is a Schedule II drug, which means the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) classifies it as having a high potential for abuse. At the same time, the DEA warns that methylphenidate produces many of the same effects as cocaine and that psychotic episodes and severe psychological addiction have all been associated with methylphenidate use. [3]

One Dayton, Ohio father recounted how his son had complained of having “dark thoughts” while on drugs for what was labeled as attention deficit hyperactivity. This same father buried his son in 2018 after the teen committed suicide within 3 weeks of having been prescribed an antidepressant with a black box warning. The father states that the “black box warning was never brought up” and “neither was the fact that the drug prescribed is not FDA-approved for patients younger than 25 and therefore was off-label.” [4]

Outraged at the significant number of children prescribed psychiatric drugs, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), a non-profit mental health watchdog dedicated to the protection of children, is calling upon lawmakers to take action and hold the psychiatrists prescribing these deadly drugs accountable.

“Parents are not being told the dangers associated with these drugs,” said Diane Stein, President CCHR Florida. “True informed consent is not being done and the psychiatrists doling out these drugs need to be held accountable when they violate the law.”

As part of a campaign to educate parents on their rights, CCHR hosts regular seminars and workshops on the mental health law, parental rights and the dangerous side effects of psychiatric drugs. To learn more or to reserve seats at the next seminar please call 727-442-8820.

About CCHR: Initially established by the Church of Scientology and renowned psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Szasz in 1969, CCHR’s mission is to eradicate abuses committed under the guise of mental health and enact patient and consumer protections. L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, first brought psychiatric imprisonment to wide public notice: “Thousands and thousands are seized without process of law, every week, over the ‘free world’ tortured, castrated, killed. All in the name of ‘mental health,’” he wrote in March 1969. For more information visit

Efforts to protect US infostructure from Drone attacks detailed by The National Robotics Education Foundation in new report spurred by recent oil field raids.

The NREF has put together a comprehensive report of available counter measures. The report details major players developing counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) weapons.”

— Thomas Atwood

RIDGEFIELD, NJ, US, December 11, 2019 / — A drone attack on Saudi Aramco's oil fields knocked out 5% of the world's oil production.
The raid by relatively inexpensive drones woke up many US infrastructure managers of the potential harm these remote devices could wreck on the American economy.
The National Robotics Education Foundation (NREF) has put together a comprehensive report of available counter measures.
The report details major players developing counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) weapons. These C-UAS systems are being urgently deployed to protect municipal buildings, stadiums, airports, universities and commercial businesses to oppose drone attacks ranging from those by individual machines to massive assaults by drone swarms.
Also discussed are techniques for fending off these malicious attacks. These range from kinetic weapons (projectiles) and jamming measures to lasers and directed energy weapons. The full report is available free here.
Thomas Atwood, Executive Director of the NREF, said the report was drafted to help individuals, corporations, municipalities and governmental agencies better evaluate measures that can be taken to counter aerial threats from both domestic and foreign actors.

About the NREF:
The National Robotics Education Foundation (NREF), founded in 2009, is a 501c3 dedicated to robotics-based education efforts. NREF is an informational clearinghouse that identifies the most accessible and affordable curricula, products and learning resources. It has also adopted a goal to provide original and sponsored research that fosters the adoption of robotics within educational curriculum in grades 1-12 to encourage careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

New Music Video Teaches Teens and Young Adults How to Recognize Symptoms and Treat an Opioid Overdose

Free Video Demonstrates the Three Simple Steps to Follow to Successfully Deliver Naloxone in a Suspected Opioid Overdose

You know who has the most exposure to people who may have OD’d on Opioids? Young People! We produced this music video with the hope that it would be shared far and wide. ”

— Sandy Bardas, Co-Chair of the Opioid Task Force for the CSHP

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, December 11, 2019 / — Samantha Isidro, a fourth-year pharmacy student at Chapman School of Pharmacy in Irvine, California and Sandy Bardas, Co-Chair of the Opioid Task Force for the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) have created an important new video that addresses today’s growing Opioid overdose crisis and are making it available for free. Using pharmacy students and original music by Danny Dodge and Annie Grunwald, the video shows what an opioid overdose emergency looks like and how to safely use Naloxone to save the lives of those who have overdosed either by accident or by intent.

Naloxone, (also known as Narcan®) is used in opioid overdoses to counteract life-threatening depression of the central nervous system and respiratory system, allowing an overdose victim to breathe normally. Naloxone is available both as a prescription item and without a prescription from a pharmacist. The easiest-to-use delivery method is the NARCAN© Nasal Spray, which is stocked by all major pharmacy chains.

Traditionally administered by emergency response personnel, today naloxone can be administered by minimally trained laypeople. The new video is intended to help prepare anyone, especially young people, to treat an opioid overdose, whether in people who have been prescribed opioid pain medication, or those who choose to use heroin and other opioids. Naloxone is effective in treating overdoses of heroin, morphine, codeine, Dilaudid™, hydromorphone, Vicodin™, oxycodone, Norco™, Percocet™, fentanyl, Demerol™, OxyContin™, methadone, and Roxanol™. Overdose symptoms include dizziness, slow heart rate, slow breathing, confusion, pinpoint pupils and pale, cold skin.

“You know who has the most exposure to people who may have OD’d on Opioids?” Asks Sandy Bardas, Co-Chair of the Opioid Task Force for the CSHP. “Young People! We produced this music video with the hope that it would be shared far and wide by professionals, by media, by friends, friends of friends, to empower everyday people, particularly young people, to identify symptoms of opioid overdose and know how to use the lifesaving NARCAN medication. We need a youth-centered, community-driven approach to increase the effectiveness of this important form of harm reduction.”

The new CSHP video has no copyright restrictions and is intended to be freely shared. Follow this link to download the video from YouTube.

About CSHP

Russian Icon Collection – A Complete Book on Antique Russian Icons

Menaion icon

Icon of St. Catherine

The Resurrection – The Harrowing of Hades

Russian Icon is pleased to introduce Russian Icon Collection, our first collaborative project with the Museum of the Russian Icon in Moscow.

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, December 11, 2019 / — Russian Icon, a specialist online gallery of religious icon art and artifacts, is pleased to introduce our first collaborative project with the Museum of the Russian Icon in Moscow – a complete book on antique Russian icons, titled Russian Icon Collection. The book represents a collection of museum-quality icons created in the Russian Empire in the 18th-19th centuries, each accompanied by the high-resolution images and detailed iconographic descriptions provided by the leading experts in Russian icon art.

Russian Icon Collection is a result of a several-year research initiative aimed at the popularization of Russian icon art, a unique form of religious art originated in the first years of Christianity. The icons included in the book come from private collections, with many pieces that have rarely or never been displayed to the public before. Each featured icon was professionally evaluated and described by Anna Ivannikova, a reputable art expert and historian who has made a significant contribution to studying antique icons, and Sergey Khodorkovskiy, a private collector and specialist in old Russian icons. Thanks to their efforts, Russian Icon Collection represents a compilation of expert knowledge gained over many years of experience.

The collection of Russian icons included in the book is distinguished by a unique style and value. Most of the featured icons were created in the important iconographic centers of the Russian Empire, particularly in Palekh, Mstyora, and Kholuy. Among the highlights are 18th- and 19th-century icons depicting the scene of The Resurrection – The Harrowing of Hades, also known as “full-cycle icons” or “polnitsy.” Other interesting examples of Russian icon art presented in Russian Icon Collection are the Feodorovskaya Mother of God with the legend of the icon in 16 border scenes, a set of 12 Menaion icons with the depictions of feasts and saints for each month of the ecclesiastical year, a rare icon of the Iconostasis, and hagiographical icons of St. Alexius – the Man of God and St. Catherine, among others.

Russian Icon Collection is the first book released by Russian Icon in collaboration with the Museum of the Russian Icon in Moscow. The latter is the largest private museum of Russian icons and Christian art in Russia, which was founded by the reputable art patron and philanthropist Mikhail Abramov in 2006. The Museum is housed in two historic mansions on Goncharnaya Street in Moscow, reconstructed and equipped for storing and displaying a collection of nearly 5,000 pieces. Admission is free, including guided tours, lectures, and concerts held at the Museum.

A PDF version of Russian Icon Collection can be downloaded on the official website of Russian Icon. The printed version of the book is expected to be released in the near future.

Debbie Radish-Respess of Invisible Horizons Coaching And Consulting to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

LEBANON, TENNESSEE, UNITED STATES, December 11, 2019 / — Leadership opportunities are everywhere. We look to leaders as role models to guide us to success, but in today’s fast-paced, chaotic workplace, the leadership essential to that success is sometimes woefully lacking. Although many business executives feel they are natural-born leaders, the skills they exhibit are under constant scrutiny thereby providing an opportunity for them to be open and willing to continuously develop and hone their executive presence. One skilled Executive coach is making it her mission to help develop the best authentic leaders to ultimately make a greater impact on their organizations and achieve greater success.

Debbie Radish-Respess is a top-notch Executive coach and the founder of Invisible Horizons Coaching and Consulting.

“I coach executives and emerging leaders to become more effective and engaging within their organizations,” says Debbie. “The best leaders embody humility, authenticity, sincerity, and compassion, and the strongest of them continually develop and are always learning. Their actions exhibit the behaviors they want to see in their staff.”

Prior to becoming an Executive coach, Debbie was a vice president for a global manufacturing company and has over twenty years in similar businesses. From her experience in male-dominated industries, Debbie identified a gap between the men and women in leadership roles and the disconnect between both genders actively supporting each other toward success. This inspired her to not only go into Executive coaching to shape great leaders, but to help bridge this gap.

“Executive-level diversity is critical for organizational success. I have the opportunity and the experience to develop executive presence and emotional intelligence in my clients which helps them benefit overall corporate performance,” says Debbie.

Having her share of bad managers further encouraged Debbie to recognize the significance of good leadership.

“An organization without an effective executive team equates to disaster,” says Debbie. “High turnover; low employee engagement; high absenteeism; missed deadlines; customer turnover; lower revenue; and dwindling profits – these are all indications of poor leadership. Therefore, developing and growing leaders, especially at upper levels, means the organization will function better as a whole.”

Leadership skills are not just used within the workplace. Debbie believes our personal lives and work lives are interconnected – and striking harmony between them is more likely to reduce stress and keep us happier and more productive.

“Leadership starts at home,” says Debbie. “What example are we setting for our spouses, children, and even friends, and how do we portray that same example at work? When you are genuine in all areas of your life, everyone around you is blessed with the authenticity, humility, and vulnerability you project, and you will set an example in which others aspire to follow.”

Debbie brings to her coaching a level of experience that is unique in the business world. Being direct and compassionate to get to the heart of the matter helps her clients find and take actionable steps toward their personal and professional goals. “We focus on the future, and by understanding current habits and behaviors we co-create time-bound actions to build momentum toward goals, celebrating successes along the way, and breaking-through the challenges that hinder growth. This provides an opportunity in which the client unleashes their potential,” says Debbie, “and becomes the servant leader he or she desires to be. A different mindset and new habits and behaviors are ways to attain this desired outcome.”

Debbie feels leaders like John Maxwell and Ken Blanchard are great examples of servant leadership, while some leaders in our current political and religious arenas may be more interested in what they get from being in a level of authority rather than how they serve the people.

“In a very broad stroke, we, as a society, either lack some of the most important leadership qualities or need help exercising those we do have. Coaches help their clients do just that: helping them unleash their servant leadership potential,” says Debbie. “Because each of us can [learn to] be authentic, humble, and vulnerable, these skills help organizations succeed. Coaching provides a safe and non-judgmental space in which to grow these traits.”

CUTV News Radio will feature Debbie Radish- Respess in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on Friday December 13th at 3 p.m. EST
